About the Laboratory

We investigate how processing routes shape microstructure and, in turn, mechanical and functional behavior of structural and lightweight alloys as well as shape memory systems. Our experimental work couples deformation (slip, twinning, martensitic transformation) with microstructural engineering using heat treatment and severe plastic deformation.
